Schedule:

• Food Server 4:00/7:30 pm Monday - Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 9:30am/6:30pm

• Sanitation/Dishwasher 11:30/7:30 Monday - Thursday and 11:30/6:30 on Friday

• Grill Cook & Smoothie Bar Assistant - 4:00pm - 9:30pm, Monday -Wednesday. 4:00pm-9:30pm Smoothie Bar Only on Thursday.  Weekend hours available but not required.  (Must be ServSafe Certified) 

• Cook/Server - Weekends only Saturday & Sunday, 9:30am - 6:30pm

Pay: $10/HR
Reports To: Cafeteria Manager or Food Service Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals from a set menu or daily specials, following established recipes and guidelines. Ensure all dishes are served hot and fresh.

• Line Cooking: Manage the food line during meal service, ensuring that food is served promptly and correctly. Prepare ingredients for cooking and assembly.

• Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with menu items, daily specials, and nutritional information, ensuring that all meals meet dietary and allergen requirements.

• Quality Control: Ensure food quality and presentation are consistent, and handle food in a way that adheres to health and safety regulations.

• Food Safety: Follow strict food safety standards, including proper handling, cooking, and storage techniques to prevent contamination.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other cafeteria workers, servers, and staff to ensure efficient service during busy meal periods.

• Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and workstations throughout the day. Ensure the kitchen remains tidy and organized.

• Inventory Management: Assist with stock rotation and inventory management, ensuring that ingredients and supplies are always available for meal preparation.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary training or food service experience is a plus.

• Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a food service or cooking environment preferred.

• Skills:

  • Ability to follow recipes and cook to order.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Team player with good communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices (ServSafe certification is a plus).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

• Comfort working with kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and knives.

• Ability to handle heat and noise in a busy kitchen environment.

Role Description
This is a hands-on, multi-duty position—not a “cook-only” role. While cooking is a primary responsibility, team members are expected to assist wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Candidates must be comfortable rotating through different tasks throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking meals according to established guidelines
• Serving on the patient line and assisting in retail food service areas
• Performing food prep work
• Washing dishes and maintaining dish area
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and mopping kitchen and dining areas
• Supporting overall kitchen operations as part of a team

Qualifications

• Previous institutional cooking experience required
• Must be willing to perform a variety of kitchen duties beyond cooking
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must be dependable and maintain a strong work ethic
• Must have black non-slip shoes
