Technical Support Specialist I needed to provide hands-on support for desktop and laptop computers, applications, and related technology. This role involves the specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals in compliance with established standards and guidelines. The Technical Support Specialist I will interact with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring technical issues while providing exceptional support to end users.
This position requires strong problem-solving skills, independent analysis, and effective communication. The ideal candidate is a proactive thinker with a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative in troubleshooting and resolving IT issues.
Salary: $44,000 - $50,000 + excellent benefit package

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to end users via IT support systems.
Track, prioritize, and document IT support requests using an IT ticketing system.
Manage daily IT operations, including computers, networks, phone systems, copiers, cell phones, pagers, and security systems.
Ensure seamless desktop computer integration with file servers, email servers, conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
Recommend and/or perform system upgrades to improve performance and longevity.
Collaborate with Regional Directors, IT management, and procurement teams to purchase hardware and software.
Maintain and update Facility Manual documentation with current network configuration details.
Keep inventory lists for IT equipment accurate and up to date.
Work with vendor support teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Assist Technical Support Specialist II and IT management with special projects as assigned.
Support and maintain IT systems, including:
System hardware (user stations, servers, and network hardware)
Communication systems (phone systems, cell phones, and pagers)

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent trade school certification.
At least 2 years of IT support experience.
Strong experience with:
PC maintenance and repair
Software installation and troubleshooting
Network (LAN, WAN, VPN) installation and maintenance
Windows operating systems (current versions)
Internet and email support
Active Directory
Microsoft Server 2008 and above
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with phone systems is a plus.
Must be willing to use a personal vehicle for company-related travel when required (mileage reimbursement provided when applicable).
