A custom metal fabrication shop located in Rankin County is seeking an experienced Soft-Metal MIG Welder to join their team. This position is ideal for a skilled welder who is comfortable performing downhill welds and working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MIG welding on soft metals such as mild steel and aluminum, and be capable of producing clean, quality welds that meet company and industry standards.
Perform MIG welding on soft metals including mild steel and aluminum
Execute downhill welds with precision and consistency
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
Measure, cut, and fit metal components prior to welding
Inspect completed welds to ensure structural integrity and quality standards
Operate welding equipment and basic fabrication tools safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Previous experience as a MIG welder in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
Proven ability to perform downhill welds
Ability to read tape measures and interpret blueprints
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Comfortable working in a shop environment (standing for extended periods)
Reliable transportation within the Jackson metro area
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Welding certification (preferred but not required)
Experience in custom metal fabrication
