Role Description
The Medical Records Clerk/Receptionist will be responsible for managing medical records and billing requests, performing receptionist duties, and providing legal administrative support. This role includes receiving, logging, and tracking records requests, following up with healthcare providers and insurers, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring timely record delivery. Additional duties include assisting attorneys and paralegals with case documentation, trial preparation, and drafting legal documents such as scheduling orders and notices. The position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Qualifications
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records release procedures
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong understanding of legal and medical documentation processes, including Medicaid and Medicare compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Professional demeanor with ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and coworkers
Prior experience as a receptionist
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate’s degree or prior legal/medical office experience preferred
