The Mortgage Loan Specialist will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage loan process, from application to closing. This role involves evaluating loan applications, providing advice on loan products, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and company policies.
Salary: $50,000 -$53,000
Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their financial needs and goals. Provide expert advice on mortgage loan options and help clients select the best loan product.
Application Processing: Assist clients in completing mortgage loan applications. Gather and review necessary documentation, such as income statements, credit reports, and property details.
Loan Evaluation: Analyze clients’ financial information to determine loan eligibility. Evaluate creditworthiness and assess risks associated with loan approvals.
Documentation: Ensure all required documentation is collected, verified, and submitted accurately. Maintain organized and up-to-date client files.
Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and company guidelines throughout the loan process. Ensure all documentation and procedures comply with industry standards.
Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders throughout the loan process. Provide timely updates and address any concerns.
Closing Coordination: Work closely with title companies, real estate agents, and other parties to facilitate a smooth closing process. Review closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the loan process. Provide solutions and alternatives to clients as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in mortgage lending or a related financial role.
Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, underwriting guidelines, and lending regulations.
Proficiency in mortgage loan software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience as a Mortgage Loan Specialist or Loan Officer.
Knowledge of local real estate markets and property values.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., NMLS license).
