Job Summary:
A Jackson Metro Area print shop is seeking a dedicated and skilled Rewind Machine Operators to join their 1st shift production team. The operator will be responsible for running, maintaining, and troubleshooting rewind machines used in the manufacturing process. The ideal candidates will have attention to detail, a solid understanding of production equipment, and a focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate rewind machines to perform rewinding, cutting, and packaging of materials (e.g., labels, film, paper).
- Ensure machine settings are correctly calibrated to meet production specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed to maintain high-quality output.
- Inspect materials for defects, such as tears, wrinkles, or other imperfections, and take corrective actions.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and work with maintenance teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure proper material handling and storage of rewound products.
- Document production output, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating rewind or related machinery is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve machine issues.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and read technical manuals and blueprints.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed, with the physical stamina to stand for long periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Some exposure to noise, dust, and other factory-related environmental factors.
