MIG Welder

Location: Rankin County, MS
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Starting Pay: $18.50/hour (Higher starting pay may be available based on weld test performance and experience.)

TempStaff is currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder on behalf of a well-established custom metal fabrication shop in Rankin County. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable welder looking for a full-time position with a four-day workweek and the opportunity to earn higher starting pay based on skill and experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication environment and demonstrate strong proficiency in both uphill and downhill MIG welding. Successful applicants will take pride in producing quality work while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on custom-fabricated metal products.
• Produce high-quality uphill and downhill welds that meet customer specifications.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and company standards.
• Collaborate with shop personnel to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous MIG welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in uphill and downhill MIG welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Weld Test Required

As part of the hiring process, all candidates must successfully complete an on-site weld test to demonstrate their welding ability.

Candidates must provide their own welding hood for the weld test and will also be expected to use their own hood during their regular work schedule if hired.

Compensation

• Starting pay is $18.50 per hour.
• Higher starting pay may be offered based on weld test results and relevant work experience.
• Monday–Thursday schedule (6:00 AM–4:30 PM), providing a three-day weekend every week.
