Position Summary:
Are you an experienced real estate legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced transactional environment? We are seeking a skilled Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy Transactions practice group handling complex commercial real estate and forestry matters. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing closings from start to finish and enjoys being a key part of a high-volume, detail-driven practice.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with commercial real estate transactions from intake through closing and post-closing
Request and review title commitments, title reports, and surveys
Draft title objection letters and assist with resolving title issues
Coordinate and schedule loan closings; prepare and review closing documents
Prepare settlement statements, affidavits, payoff letters, closing binders, and disbursement sheets
Assist with funding, disbursement of proceeds, and recording of legal documents (deeds, deeds of trust, UCCs)
Communicate with clients, lenders, realtors, surveyors, title companies, and other parties involved in transactions
Request and process title updates and assist with issuing title policies
Track transactions for 1099 reporting and complete required documentation
Draft real estate-related documents, including lien notices and foreclosure-related filings
Open new client files and maintain accurate records in the firm’s system
Assist with billing, invoice processing, and time entry as needed
Provide administrative support to attorneys and collaborate with office staff on trust accounting and reporting

Qualifications:
5–10 years of real estate experience in a law firm setting
Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, closings, and title work
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

Preferred Qualifications:
College degree
Paralegal certification
Land use experience
Notary Public
