Director of Development, Community Relations, and Communications


The Director leads efforts to strengthen community connections, engage donors, and advance the ministry’s mission. This role oversees fundraising, church and community relations, and communications strategies to ensure the ministry is well-resourced and impactful across the Jackson metro area. This role is perfect for a mission driven leader skilled in strategy, relationship-building, and team management.

Salary: $75,000  

Key Responsibilities

Development & Donor Relations

  • Create and execute annual fundraising plans with clear goals for donor engagement and retention.

  • Plan and oversee key fundraising events, including recruitment and logistics.

  • Manage connection events like tours and lunch-and-learns to expand donor engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with best practices in fundraising and tax credit policies.

Community & Church Relations

  • Build and maintain partnerships with churches and community organizations.

  • Develop church engagement plans focusing on prayer, service, and program promotion.

  • Create volunteer opportunities to enhance outreach efforts.

Communications & Public Relations

  • Manage a communications calendar covering events and campaigns.

  • Develop a social media strategy to boost donor and community engagement.

  • Craft timely responses to relevant news impacting the ministry or its clients.

Leadership & Administration

  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team, managing Development, Community Relations, and Communications staff.

  • Oversee team performance, including training, workload management, and conflict resolution.   

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with confidentiality and compassion.

  • Active church involvement and a life reflecting a personal relationship with Jesus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with nonprofit fundraising.

  • 2+ years of development experience and budget management skills.

  • Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
