Company Description:
A large, established church is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support its Adult Discipleship ministry. The church is committed to serving as a united family of faith, helping people grow in their faith and supporting the good of the surrounding communities. This position provides essential administrative support across the Connections, Missions, and Groups ministry areas and works closely with church staff, members, volunteers, and leadership.

Hours:
8 am to 5 pm, Monday - Thursday, 8 am to 12 noon Friday
Pay:

$17.00 per hour

Role Description:
The Administrative Assistant for Adult Discipleship provides skilled, organized, and reliable administrative support to the Adult Discipleship & Missions Pastor and the Adult Discipleship Team. Responsibilities include managing correspondence and calendars, coordinating meeting spaces and events, maintaining church management system records, tracking attendance and ministry data, preparing reports, supporting volunteers, assisting with basic financial processes, and providing receptionist coverage as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively across multiple ministry areas while providing professional and compassionate support.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous administrative or office experience required; church or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and effectively use church management software and ministry-specific platforms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple ministry areas
  • Ability to coordinate and support volunteers with professionalism, warmth, and follow-through
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and confidentiality when handling administrative and financial information
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as ministry needs arise
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the church campus
  • Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods
  • Mature Christian who demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in faith, and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading and prayer
  • Commitment to serving in a manner consistent with the church's mission, values, and strategy
