A well-established company is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist to support its daily accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Salary: $50,000 + DOE, excellent benefit package
Responsibilities:
Process customer payments and maintain accurate A/R records
Monitor past-due accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices
Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account questions
Process vendor invoices and verify purchase orders, receiving documents, pricing, and approvals
Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies
Maintain accurate customer and vendor records
Enter payments for utilities and other business expenses
Assist with account reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing
Communicate professionally with customers and vendors
Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous A/R, A/P, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred: Experience with invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, purchase orders, receiving documents, sales tax, and 1099 requirements. Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment is a plus.
