About the Opportunity
An established and highly respected firm is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join its team in Ridgeland, MS. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting the financial health of a growing company.
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000

Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure accurate reporting
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
Reconcile bank accounts and audit general ledger accounts
Process bi-weekly payroll and assist with payroll-related reporting
Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll taxes (940, 941, unemployment, etc.)
Generate annual W-2s and 1099s
Maintain and organize financial records and accounting systems
Assist with budget preparation and financial analysis
Support annual audits, including corporate taxes, insurance audits, and overhead audits
Handle regulatory filings, including state registrations and compliance requirements
Prepare specialized reports for management and business needs
Assist with property tax filings, census reports, and out-of-state revenue tracking
Support HR and OSHA compliance efforts as needed
Manage complex invoicing and funding accounts

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience preparing financial statements and reconciling accounts
Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial reporting tools
Knowledge of payroll processing and tax reporting requirements
Familiarity with compliance standards and audit processes
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or other professional certification
Experience in engineering, construction, or related industries
Experience with Deltek or similar accounting software
