Role Description:

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and assembling parts to fabricate and repair dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures. This role requires interpreting blueprints, calculating dimensions, and operating various machinery like lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting, repairing parts, and recommending design modifications. The position reports to the Tool and Die Manager.

Qualifications:

    •    Certificate or associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent, or 5 years of related experience and/or training.

    •    Excellent working knowledge of die-making processes.

    •    Proficiency with lathes, mills, grinders, and related machinery.

    •    Ability to design and build fixtures using parts or blueprints.

    •    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    •    Ability to read and interpret blueprints for accurate part creation.

    •    Competency in basic algebra and geometry for calculations.

    •    Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

    •    Knowledge of safety regulations and maintaining clean, orderly work areas.
