Most importantly in this job, the right candidate for this position should possess a proven record of strong executive level administrative skills to include handling complicated executive calendars and scheduling travel, the ability to make decisions independently, and to anticipate the needs of a high-level executive.
Qualifications to be a success:
Political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization and the Office of the President and external constituencies. Strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy. Skills in recognizing politically sensitive situations and ability to maintain professional demeanor in a dynamic office environment.
Exceptional composition skills. Ability to clearly and accurately express substance and nuance. Strong editing, and proofreading skills to review copy for appropriate style, consistency, format, completeness, and accuracy. Certification in copy editing preferred.
Advising and counseling skills. Experience in providing advice and counsel to senior executives on a broad range of issues, including issues related to race, gender, identity, power and privilege. Ability to collaborate effectively both within and outside the unit.
Small to mid-level project management skills. Especially projects of high importance and/or highly sensitive in nature.
Skill and experience to conduct research and analysis on a broad range of matters, including those associated with race, identity, gender, power, and privilege.
Advanced skills in problem identification. Experience in assessing and evaluating issues, conducting appropriate research, making recommendations and taking appropriate action regarding complex and frequently sensitive issues. Ability to focus on key issues and possess in-depth knowledge of a broad range of issues.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of common organization-specific computer applications. Ability to make executive travel arrangements. Ability to process expense reimbursements. Experience with a wide range of computer software, including calendar, spreadsheet, database and word processing applications.
Ability to use a high level of discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with proven experience in utilizing good judgment and discretion when working with a variety of sensitive issues or highly confidential information.
Demonstrate experience in functioning independently at the highest executive assistant level, exercising outstanding professionalism, sound judgment and common sense. Ability to rapidly adapt to a wide range of leadership styles.

SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000, DOE
