RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE position involves the observation of civil and environmental services including transportation systems, roadways, highways, traffic control systems, water supply, distribution, and transmission, waste water collection and treatment, landfills, site grading, parking facilities, stormwater runoff and drainage facilities, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP s),Stormwater pollution prevention plan, and recreational and sporting facilities. Candidate for this position will be responsible for observing and documenting construction activities under the supervision of the Project Engineer/Manager and assist as needed to ensure that the project is built in substantial accordance with project plans and specifications under which the contract was awarded. They will serve as the primary liaison between the engineer and the contractor throughout all phases of the project and conduct on site observation of construction activities with an emphasis on civil engineering construction. Performing operational and administrative data collection/analysis and actively participating in client and project team meetings will also be part of the duties. They will be representing the firm to clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and other interested parties Cultivating existing client relationships is a must! Representative will be expected to assist with shop drawing reviews and verifying conformance in the field, observing and assessing construction activities, and maintaining appropriate reports/records per company policy. Other responsibilities include reviewing payment requests and performing/observing acceptance inspections and observing testing, documenting information to prepare record drawings, and assisting with contract close-out documentation.

SALARY: $39,500- $45,000 (Depending on experience)

Guaranteed 40hrs/week with some overnight travel

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have valid driver's license

  • Must have high school diploma or GED

  • Post Secondary Certificate in Engineering related Technologies, Construction Trades, Mechanics and Repairers, Precision Production Trades, etc., Bachelor's Degree or College Courses preferred

  • 3 - 5 years of applicable experience in public or private construction observation and/or management

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment involved in the construction or repair of systems

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering, science, and technology

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plan, blueprints, drawings, and models

  • Keen understanding of the English language, including rules of composition and grammar

  • Working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their application

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work outdoors with exposure to various types of inclement weather and encounters with wildlife

  • Drive to assigned work sites

  • Traverse through various types of work site terrain

  • Work within close physical proximity to construction site where hazards may be present (head hazards from falling or flying objects, hand hazards from sharp objects, foot hazards from falling objects or puncture wounds, hearing hazard from loud noises, eye hazard from debris, and hazards from working near traffic)

This position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough or difficult surfaces; recurring stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighting less than 25 pounds and may require occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds. The work my require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as mobility and dexterity.
