The Manufacturing Manager is responsible to oversee assigned manufacturing areas, improving methods and procedures and direct resources to meet the customer needs, with emphasis on reducing cost, improving sustainability and developing best practices within the manufacturing processes.

Salary: $90-110K DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, select and train and develop team members

  • Ensure transfer of information to appropriate shifts and plant-wide personnel

  • Monitor and review budget and forecast to factor into daily decisions

  • Stay current on customer needs, company initiatives including current and future trends

  • Lead manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance and expertise to team members.

  • Facilitate project flow involving regular contact with engineering, quality and other teams

  • Drive and report on major projects with focus on milestones, cost, quality and delivery

  • Lead continuous improvement projects for cycle time reduction and lower tooling cost

  • Support and lead completion of engineering samples for new products

  • Investigate and work with suppliers for best cost alternatives

  • Coach, develop and supervise team members as assigned

  • Program various production machines for new produces or revisions to existing products

  • Oversee processes, routings, bill of material and work instructions for products

  • Gather analysis, recommend and prepare justification for purchase of new equipment

  • Assist in new equipment installs, plant layout and other infrastructure as assigned

  • Technical support for area specific compliance to Quality, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices

  • Coordinate, perform and troubleshoot equipment, tooling and fixtures as needed

  • Identity, Measure, monitor, review and report key performance indicators used to direct resources

  • Train / mentor others to support growth and cross-functional initiatives

  • Support and maintain a clean, safe work area, equipment and tools per 5S philosophy

  • Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain an accident free environment

  • Maintain and complete records (hard copy or electronic) for quality system, regulations and company requirements

  • Lead, support and adhere to company initiatives, policies, procedures and practices

  • Other manufacturing assignments or reassignments as directed by Management

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) and/or 5 years experience in technical manufacturing engineering and/or management, preferably with machining of precision parts and programming of machines

  • Lean Manufacturing and ISO Quality Systems strongly desired

  • Proficient in CAD software system, with CAM desired

  • Designing, drafting and implementing tooling, fixtures and work holding devices

  • Measurement and inspection systems, including GD&T

  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tracking systems

  • Knowledge of material and heat treat selection, pFLOW, pFEMA s and other engineering tools

  • Precision production systems and techniques, detailed problem solving and root cause analysis
