Excellent opportunity for an experienced ESTIMATOR to join a team of professionals. The role of the estimator is to complete material and labor takeoffs for the fabrication of structural and miscellaneous metals in a timely manner. Perform timely material takeoffs of structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimates

Ensure the quality of estimates, estimated vs. actual (tracked in takeoff tracker)

Participate in project estimate review meetings with sales and marketing team

Submit Requests for Information (RFI's) needed to accurately complete material takeoffs

Account for comprehensive inclusion of all required labor and material

Interpret design drawings and ensure the accuracy of the created estimates

Assist Business Development/Preconstruction personnel in order to provide customers with complete and accurate proposals

Read and interpret design drawing to make educated assumptions in order to create complete and accurate takeoffs when information is missing or poorly given


  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of

Study: Construction Management or Related Field; experience may be considered

2 plus years of experience in Related Field preferred

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD

  • Must be able to use AISC Code of Standard Practice & Steel Service standard procedures to create a takeoff that will cover the requirements of the project

  • Must be proficient with the proper use of computer, hand held calculator and AISC Manual of Steel Construction

  • Past experience with either Steel 2000 or FabSuite estimating software preferred

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
