Role Description
The District Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining fiscal reports, budgets, and related documentation for assigned programs. This role ensures compliance with accounting policies, program guidelines, and applicable federal/state regulations while delivering accurate financial reporting. The position collaborates with management on key objectives and priorities, provides fiscal guidance to staff and subcontractors, and supports the success of community-focused programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time accounting experience, including at least one (1) year in governmental accounting
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database programs
Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Valid Mississippi driver’s license
